Exciting new workspace for Hollard

Open, bright and fun were key words used when JDV Projects took the brief from long-time client Greg Bain, Operations Manager at Real Insurance, a division of Hollard.

The team at JDV projects have been fortunate enough to have had a close relationship with Hollard Insurance Group and their subsidiaries for several years, so we were delighted to be appointed for a new design and fit out within their HQ in Chatswood, Sydney.

Over the years, Hollard have proven themselves to be an innovative and forward-thinking company with a desire to provide a ‘thank God it’s Monday’ environment for their team.

Open, bright and fun were key words used when JDV and The Bold Collective took the brief from long-time client Greg Bain, Operations Manager at Real Insurance, a division of Hollard.  With both companies having worked for Greg in the building before, it served us both to know what had worked and how a truly exceptional and efficient space could be achieved.

The resulting workspace environment has so many key features, it’s tough to mention them all, however, there are a couple that cannot go unnoticed.

The ‘Townhall’ is a large light-filled space which is perfect for company meetings and events.  The flexibility of this central hub is increased by the use of glass bi-fold doors on the meeting rooms which fold back to create one large entertaining space.  Casual seating and banquettes feature around the perimeter provide a perfect location for informal meetings and collaboration.

The pièce de résistance for the 2 floors is an impressive state of the art boardroom capable of hosting all 24 board members at one time.  The fully-automated audio visual and room settings are all controlled by a master tablet so that the room can be adapted at the touch of a button.  With ‘smart glass’ which can provide immediate privacy, the clear window panel can go from transparent to opaque in seconds using an electrical current.  And as the room is completely wi-fi and Bluetooth enabled, a height adjustable Microsoft Hub allows a touch screen and interactive experience and allows anyone to connect during the meeting.
