Ensure your team and ours are always working safely on our sites
At JDV Projects, we don’t want you to be a statistic. We want to ensure that your team, and ours, are always working safely on our sites.
In the 14 years from 2003 to 2016, 3,414 workers lost their lives in work-related incidents. Unfortunately, the construction industry is the third highest risk work environment contributing to these statistics.
Falls from heights and incorrect use of ladders currently prove to be amongst the highest contributors to MTI’s, LTI’s as well as deaths across numerous industries in Australia as well
as around the world. Due to the nature of our work and how this affects us, this is a major concern to the construction industry.
New measures to ensure safety are being introduced year on year. A recent development in site safety recommendations from the MBA and SafeWork NSW has led JDV Projects, and many of our industry colleagues, to ensure that no A-frame ladders are allowed on our project sites, which will certainly make for a safer working environment.
The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012-2022 has identified the construction industry as a priority due to the high number and rate of work-related fatalities and serious injuries. The aim of this strategy is to reduce the incidence of serious injury by at least 30% nationwide by 2022, and reduce the number of work-related fatalities due to injury by at least 20%.
The construction industry will play a critical role in meeting these targets. All companies in this industry have an obligation to make sure their sites are safe and that their team and contractors are adequately trained and knowledgeable on maintaining a safe environment. As part of the onboarding process at JDV Projects, new staff are trained on how we operate both on and off-site. Team work and site safety go hand-in-hand to ensure that potential risk is mitigated.
JDV Projects want to do all we can to ensure that our team and contractors are always safe on our sites, and we advise that you have a read of a report by Safe Work Australia which outlines the dangers associated with a construction workplace.
